Every video game forum has this thread: Which console do you think is best?

Haha, well, if you're going with the obvious just to get it out of the way, I'll make the obvious arguement for the Wii: Gameplay.
While the competition is doing the same thing over and over again, improving their visual and audio effects and detail until they eventually plateau at reality, Nintendo is taking chances and making drastic changes to the way their games are played, most of which prove to be improvements. Sure, watching Gears of War on the XBox 360 you could almost mistake it for a live-action film, but just an hour ago I was playing Wii Sports with a group of people (all adults) who until tonight had considered video games to be a childish waste of time and money, but have now decided they need to get a game system for their family room. Their was no learning curve either, just a few seconds to explain the simple controls, and they were offering some stiff competition my brothers and I (the resident gaming veterans).
As long as games are developed properly, the Wii has "revoutionized" (forgive me, I'm still going with the obvious here) the way games are played, drawing in a new audience while, in my opinion, keeping their product very attractive to the existing audience.
Go ahead, show me what the 360 or the PS3 are doing that the previous generation couldn't do?
(LOL even as I write this, my own mother is making comments about how much she enjoyed it).

I admit the Wii is a exsalent system. but i do not belive any system is truly better then any other.
I belive the wii like the game cube and to a lesser extent the 64 while exsalent systems are for the most part better for a younger group of people. or people who just want to have some quick fun from time to time. It is a party system or a system that could be used to introduce people to the world of video games. and sure the wii is bringing new people to the video game family but thats with wii sports. I have a fealing there won't be a large number of games that are so ....simple. give these people any other game such as red steal or zelda and they will be as lost as if it was on any other system.
The plastation systems although i have never played the ps3. i belive to be the system that likes rpg style games like final fantisy and xenosaga. it may not be the best for multiple player games. but for just pure game play and enjoy ment of games with alot of story. not to mention games that are like the x box much more mature then the nintendo games.
then we have the x box and i belive this to be the most power full of both this gen and the last it has it self a station for action packed games with exsalent multiplaer ability. personaly for me the game platform i will invest my cash in first is the 360.
Sorry for all the errors i have a slight problem with spelling and gramer and this computer has no spell check i will hope to edit the above post asap

Except for the Ps3... Please, do throw the baby out with the bathwater because the baby smells like crap. I mean come on whats his name actually said that it was made for Audio/Video over gameplay (Or something along those lines ).
Bah any way. I originally was a "Big N" fan boy, now I am not. Now I like Micros($?)oft and Nintendo almost equally. It annoys me that companies are focusing on graphics over game play, where as nintendo is actually making Change! Sure everything has it's short comings but do you really want to play stair walker x (With super graphics "EggMS said that its like walking up stairs!")?In short I think that video games should just stop trying to make characters look like real people (I for one, don't want to feel guilty about shooting a nazi who looks so real that I can see him cry or feel pain realistically) and focus on making it Fun!

I have all 3 systems. My verdict is in judgement of the PS3, because unlike the general gaming populace, I'm looking at the total picture. I'm going to put in my 2 cents for each system:
Wii: The Wii had the strongest launch due to it being the only system without limited release. Reason? It's the only system not using new, expensive and hard to get technology. The inside of this machine is virtually identical to the Cube, which even in its generation, contained the cheapest parts (Although its graphics engine was stronger than the PS2 due to it being released a year later). Ultimately, this is the system you buy for being a kiddie who wants some cheap laughs, because Nintendo is ultimately focusing on its usual target audience of youngsters. Something going against the Wii, is simply that it isn't powerful enough. This is turning away developers like Shinji Mikami (Resident Evil creator) who are looking to really push the boundaries of a system in every aspect. During the Gamecube days, this actually worked in Nintendo's favour because the Cube was a pretty d**n powerful machine for its age, but in the new genre It's a small fraction of the work-horses that are the XBox 360 and PS3. Once again using the example of Resident Evil (one of my favourite series' ever btw), this changes the developers' outlooks on whether a game will fly or not. Really stop and think about it: Besides Nintendo Brand games, what big name games are really coming out for the Wii?... We see on gaming sites all the time about the wars for rights to big games between the X-Box 360 and PS3, but where's the Wii to be seen? Nowhere. Why? game creators also want to see their game push reality to the best of their abilities. This is also aided by the Wii controller, which although innovative, I highly doubt will fly with much success. Once the initial shock over how fun Wii Sports is, and playing first person shooters while pointing at the screen, people will find that there really isn't much more potential out there for the Wii-mote, besides benefits which also bring cons. Ultimately, Nintendo will probably have to revert back to using traditional old controllers for when people realize that it's simply more comfortable and you don't mess with a good thing. Now don't get me wrong, I like my Wii. I play Wii sports and got pro in all the different individual sports. I beat Zelda after a couple of all nighters, and I had a blast feeling a sense of empowerment blasting stuff with shotguns with Red Steel, but I really don't see any huge advancements that can be made with the machine that won't seem bizarre to many of the average gamers. The small price tag for the Wii is largely in part due to what's inside. Admittedly however, it is the most innovative, and Nintendo is simply trying something new and taking risks with that crapload of money they're sitting on. I give the Wii a 7 at the moment because it's fun and cheap, however I also predict in the future that this rating will unfortunately fall.
(more to follow for the other systems)

RE5 is currently due for release on the PS3 and XBox360. No port to the Wii has been confirmed or announced yet if that is true. Do you have a link to a source b any chance? (not trying to dump you or anything btw ) Once again, I'll type the other reviews when I have the chance really >_>
